Summer is right around the corner. We have many summer camps listed on our website that are available to children. Do you have any special camp stories you can share with families. Any camps you would recommend to others?

  1. I think the best camp story I ever had was when I went to Camp Green Oaks in Upstate NY. It was in the late 80’s and I participated in their summer service program. It was a travel camp where you would go into a different culture, immerse yourself in it, learn the language (if it was different) and even help with building a new church, school, etc. Not only was it honest work, but a real chance to explore a part of the world one has never been in before. The friends you make there will share in this unique experience as well: One that I have taken with me since then.

My daughter started attending Camp Mark Seven at the age of 12. I remember how nervous I was to send her to a three week camp..three states away from home. She ended up having a wonderful time and met so many friends. From then on, every year she attended this camp and later became a counselor. She is still in contact with many of the friends she met at that camp.
